Snapchat apps removed from Windows Phone Store: Millions of teenage voices suddenly cried out in ter

In a move to tighten up security on its platform, Snapchat recently began clamping down on third-party apps, apps that were legitimately using it’s API to enable access to Snapchat messages from within another application or in the case of Windows Phone to get access at all.

Last Month, Snapchat began e-mailing users of third-party apps to refrain from doing so, or risk having their accounts locked out. It looks now that the messaging company may have gone one step further by getting Microsoft to remove any unofficial Snapchat apps from their store. A step made all the more confusing, considering the firm does not provide an official app for Windows or Windows Phone.

Rudy Huyn, renowned Windows Phone app maker, has taken to twitter to comment on why his own app 6Snap has also disappeared.

For the time being, 6Snap and all other Snapchat apps will be unavailable from the Windows Phone store. We will update you when any further updates come from Microsoft or Snapchat.
