Unlock your inner 'Codess' and Ignite the Future, encourages Microsoft Ireland

Codess Dublin – Ignite the Future, an international event to promote networking and career building among women in the IT sector, was hosted by Microsoft to bring together women in Technology roles to explore ways to promote gender diversity in the engineering field.

Codess delivers a series of worldwide events and workshops for female coders from academia through to the executive level.

Attendees at the event in Dublin heard from a number of influential speakers on themes targeted to those progressing their careers in the IT industry and also had the opportunity to network amongst peers in similar IT and Academic roles.

Fiona Carney, Director EMEA Dynamics Operations, and Gender Diversity Lead for Microsoft Ireland, said of the event. “By looking at the topic of females in technology roles through the prism of a number of different perspectives – from the career coach to the engineer, and from women working in STEM in large multinationals through to a female entrepreneur – we are able to piece together an accurate picture of the current situation. By sharing knowledge, participants can look to adapt their situation to best suit them, and a future with a much greater participation of women in STEM roles can be anticipated and planned for.”
