Surface 3 Now Available in Ireland

Microsoft's much anticipated Surface 3 is now available in Ireland. Surface 3, unlike its predecessor Surface RT or Surface 2, is optimised to run full Windows, Office and all the programs and applications that you can run on your current PC.

A reported battery life of up to 10 hours and the famous pen experience, similar to the Surface Pro 3, make this a device that is great for taking notes or marking documents - useful mobile professionals, families, students and schools.

Currently the Wifi-Only versions of Surface 3 are for sale in Ireland starting at €609.99 for the 64GB storage unit, with 2GB RAM, and includes a one-year subscription of Office 365 Personal with 1 terabyte of cloud storage. A 128GB version, with 4GB RAM, is also available for €729.99.

The Surface 3 has a 10.8 inch Full-HD display and supports the Surface Pen, although that is not included in the box. A Full Size USB 3.0 Port is useful to attach peripherals and a MicroSD card reader means that storage can be expanded by up to 256GB.

The Surface 3 will be full upgradeable to Windows 10, when it is released this summer.

Welcoming the arrival of Surface 3 to Ireland Patrick Ward, Windows Business Group Lead, Microsoft Ireland said: “Surface 3 is a revolutionary device. Early customer feedback has been excellent. Surface 3 brings what customers love about Surface Pro 3 to even more people, delivering the premium design and productivity of Surface in a more affordable device. It’s beautiful, versatile, powerful and productive, and I think customers are going to love what it enables them to do.”

Surface 3 will be available with a range of new accessories from today in store and online at Currys, PC World and Harvey Norman and at the Microsoft online store www.microsoftstore.ie.

Harvey Norman are offering a free wireless display adapter with purchases of Surface 3 (subject to stock availability) and PC World are offering €50 vouchers for the store with every Surface 3 purchase in the next two weeks.
