450 New Tech Jobs as Oracle Announces Expansion

More good news on the Tech and Sales Jobs front in Dublin. Oracle, the multinational software giant, announced the creation of 450 jobs.


Specialising in cloud computing, the company are looking for sales professionals as it aims to expand its cloud computing services business across the EMEA region, including Europe, the Middle East and Africa.


The jobs were announced as Taoiseach Enda Kenny was at the official unveiling the company's new offices in Eastpoint Business Park in Dublin.

Also present at the launch chief executive of the IDA, Martin Shanahan, said: "This important announcement of 450 new cloud computing roles will greatly enhance Ireland's reputation as a location of choice for cloud computing."



Loic Le Guisquet, president, Oracle, said of the expansion in EMEA: “These are exciting times for Oracle. We are extending our sales force to support our customers through their digital transformation. Starting today we are hiring 1,400 sharp, ambitious inside sales professionals across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. I want socially savvy, switched on individuals who can help customers respond to the digital imperative and make their businesses future proof. We’re looking for people who want to be relevant to the biggest trends shaping business and technology.”


Oracle's has been in Ireland for over 30 years along with other tech giants, such as Microsoft and Apple.


Cloud computing is seen as the next big frontier for Enterprise computing and having several of the market leaders establish a strong presence in Ireland is seen as a positive sign by the IDA for marketing the country to other cloud companies.
