Microsoft is getting a lot of stick for Windows Phone and it's relatively small percentage of the worldwide smartphone market. And rightly so, in some regards, but one area in which they are seeing massive success is in the budget and low- to mid-range market.
The latest of their handsets for this market, the Lumia 640 and 640 XL were just announced at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this month. Now, the smaller of the two, the Lumia 640, is listed as 'Coming Soon' on the Microsoft Ireland website.
Featuring a 5-inch 720p screen, 1GB RAM and an 8MP rear camera the Lumia 640 also features some tricks that would only be expected on higher-end phones like Glance Screen, Gorilla Glass 3 and SenserCore for health and activity tracking.
When announced the phones were expected to retail for around €139 for the 3G model and €159 for the 4G model, but the final price may vary depending on the Mobile phone network you buy the handset from.
The Lumia 640 is listed as Windows 10 ready, which means that it will be fully upgradeable to Windows 10 when it releases later this Summer.
