During a visit to Ireland yesterday, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella encouraged governments and schools to focus on the fields and skills that will benefit the young generations into the future.
"[I love to visit]… Public schools where technology is used to bring about a real change how boys and girls are introduced to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education."
The teaching of Computation Thinking, not just the teaching of coding skills will be a key to unlocking the potential of the future generations, as many careers will involve these skills.

Speaking at an Education-themed event at DCU, the Microsoft CEO highlighted how a Microsoft product can be used to teach these computation skills without the student even realising it.
"Minecraft helps student to get into STEM. They learn about computers, logic and programming building complex virtual worlds and structures, interacting with Redstone blocks to program complex qualities in the world"
