A little over six months ago, Microsoft announced 500 new Inside Sales positions for it's EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, Africa) headquarters in Dublin. With a little over 80% of these positions already filled the software giant is today announcing another 200 sales positions within the same group.
These 200 further jobs will bring Microsoft's overall employee numbers in Dublin to 2,000 and reflects the rapid expansion of the organisation.
Having already been in Ireland for over 30 years, Microsoft will be moving into a new €134 million campus in Leopardstown before the end of the year.
“I am delighted that we are announcing substantial further growth in Inside Sales within our first year of operations. This reflects the strength of the team that we have recruited to date and the quality of the applicants that have applied to join the Microsoft team. In addition to adding more Technical and Solutions Sales Specialists, we are now ready to add those with established careers and proven leadership capability, to help support the continued growth of the team. It is an exciting time to join Inside Sales. Culturally, it is like joining a start-up within one of the most exciting and well-established companies in the world. Our team will have the opportunity to help deliver Microsoft’s vision of empowering every person and organisation on the planet to do more.”
- Lisa Dillon, Managing Director, EMEA Inside Sales
The new roles in Microsoft will be suited for Technical and Solutions Sales Specialists with language skills to support and assist customers across EMEA to achieve more with their Microsoft solutions.
Martin Shanahan, CEO IDA Ireland said: “The addition of a further 200 roles to the EMEA Inside Sales team demonstrates the availability of highly–skilled technical and sales talent available in the region. Microsoft’s continued growth and commitment to Ireland has resulted in Dublin being a strategically important location for the company’s global business. Ireland is a global technology hub of choice when it comes to attracting the strategic business activities of ICT companies and Microsoft’s ongoing expansion in Dublin is a clear endorsement of this.”
Lisa Dillon continued: “The Inside Sales organisation plays a critical role in the company and with the rapid pace of growth we are opening up tremendous opportunities, truly allowing our team to ‘Start Here and Go Anywhere.’ The progressive career paths available to our new team members, as well as investments in personalised professional development plans, means that making the decision to join Microsoft will open up a world of opportunities to our new recruits. Not only will they work with customers today to help them digitally transform their businesses, but they will work as part of a team that is delivering solutions for tomorrow.”
Over 400 of the total 700 positions have been filled and Microsoft believe that all 700 positions will be filled before the end of 2017.
