Free event to answer many common questions about Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G Networking
Irish Network and application performance management company, Data Edge, will host a free seminar on Wednesday, 30th May, in the Citywest Hotel in Saggart, Co. Dublin, to look at the future world of 5G connectivity.
5G is expected to launch globally in 2020 and will offer connection speeds of up to 1Tbps, approximately 65,000 times faster than current 4G connections. This increased speed will provide the infrastructure needed to carry huge amounts of data and subsequently power a significant rise in Internet of Things technologies.
Headquartered in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Data Edge has over the last 30 years created exclusive partnerships with some of the world’s leading IT and performance management vendors, such as Spirent, Symmetricom, Anritsu and CA Technologies, to provide high-quality solutions to carrier, enterprise and government customers.
Data Edge’s seminar will provide attendees with an overview of the potential offered by 5G, as well as providing an overview of Voice and Data in the GSM, 3G and 4G eras. Industry experts will outline how the latest technologies will help to optimise network performance, and provide customers and partners with faster and improved connectivity that can enable a better overall experience.
“5G is set to revolutionise connectivity and drive industry digitisation, bringing about a range of new revenue opportunities for telecoms operators and their partners. This seminar will provide delegates with an overview of the technology and its potential, enabling them to get to grips with it early and to understand the opportunities and challenges that lie ahead.”
- Brian McBride, CEO, Data Edge
The event is being co-hosted by Spirent, a leading global provider of testing, assurance, analytics, and security solutions. Alan Way, senior manager, methodology and platform at Spirent, will address delegates about the innovative new applications that will become practical with 5G, such as virtual and augmented reality, driverless cars and real-time translation.
With more than 20 years’ experience in the telecommunications industry, Alan is an industry veteran with in-depth experience of deploying leading-edge network technologies. He is a regular speaker at Data Edge technology seminars and will use real-world examples to make his topic interesting and understandable for attendees. Alan’s colleague Ronald Mai, a senior systems engineer with Spirent, will also address attendees at the event and will discuss the direction that the telecommunications industry is taking.
