PlayStation Now hits Ireland today
Stream PS4 and PS3 games to your PC or PS4, starting today
Sony's game streaming service, PlayStation Now (PS NOW), has officially launched in Ireland. Using a model similar to Netflix, PS Now allows gamers to pay a monthly subscription and receive access to a library of over 500 PlayStation 3 or PS4 games on their PlayStation consoles or a compatible PC.
The library includes a healthy mix of PlayStation exclusives like The Last of Us, the Uncharted series, God of War and Killzone alongside popular older titles like Read Dead Redemption, Batman: Arkham City and WWE2k16 and family friendly or indie titles like the Lego games, Grim Fandango or Day of the Tentacle Remastered.
Like a movie streaming service, the games are not downloaded to the local PC or PlayStation, but instead are streamed across the internet. There is no need to install updates, patches or wait for a game to download - just pick your game and start playing. Game progress is saved online, so you can start playing on your PC and then switch to your PS4 or back again and just pick up where you left off.
In addition to Switzerland, Austria and Ireland, PS Now is also available in the U.S., Canada, Japan, U.K., Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg.
