Meet the new boss, same as the old boss, to quote The Who.

EA Sport will begin the big push for brand awareness and recognition to ensure that everyone knows that after almost three decades, FIFA 23 was the last iteration of the football juggernaut from EA Sports that will feature the FIFA branding and there is a new kid in town.

Every September, the newest FIFA game was anticipated with great hope of new ball physics and realistic player animations to make the game significantly different to the previous iteration, rather than updated rosters and kits.

Cynicism aside, the series has changed a lot over the years with improved realism of players, leagues and even broadcast packaging. The range and options of skills, moves and shots has increased so much that, at times, a third hand might come in useful for the button presses and combinations. Over the coming days, the EA SPORTS FC brand will debut in more than 100 matches across the biggest leagues in the world, including the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A, Ligue 1, WSL, NWSL, CONMEBOL and more.

Voices from across the world of global football are joining EA SPORTS to begin a new era for the game, with hundreds of leagues, teams, brands and athletes sharing the EA SPORTS FC logo through their platforms today.

“This is where the story of EA SPORTS FC begins. We’re building on 30 years of leadership and history creating experiences that bring the global football community together, and continuing to take it into a fan-first future."

- Nick Wlodyka, SVP & GM, EA SPORTS FC.

Keen to highlight that EA Sports FC plans to sidestep the naming of 'Man Red' and 'Mersey Blue' of their nearest competitor, Pro Evolution Soccer*, EA Sports FC will include over 19,000 fully licensed players, 700 teams and 30 leagues, with the support of over 300 global football partners that will allow further expansion into areas including both women’s and grassroots football.

Fans can sign up at easports.com/fc to Join the Club and be one of the first to learn more, ahead of detailed product updates coming this July.

*Pro Evolution Soccer recently rebranded itself as eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer in a naming move similar to the Golden pages 'AAAAAA Plumbers' to appear alphabetically before their rivals FIFA Soccer. However, with the new name from EA Sports FC, the dominant player will be alphabetically be back on top of the list.
