Hot on the heels of yesterdays surprise details of the Xbox Series S, Microsoft today have added another unexpected twist to their gaming strategy. It is adding EA Play (formerly EA Access) to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox Game Pass for PC at no additional cost to subscribers.

Fear not if you already have an EA Play subscription, Microsoft has thought of this and has you covered. For Xbox Game Pass members who already have an EA Play subscription, Xbox’s Major Nelson explained that Users who have both Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play purchased through Xbox will have their EA Play membership canceled and any remaining time over 50 days will be rounded up and converted to the nearest month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate at a ratio of 3:1
Irish gamers will likely see this benefit around the launch of the new Xbox consoles as the announcement cites 'This Holiday'. The Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X are scheduled to launch on 10 November 2020, with Ireland being one of the launch countries on Day One.
